Getting Started
Registration & Onboarding
How to create your MemberZone business account in Get Started, book your setup call, activate setup with the link or code we email you, and work through the launch plan to go live.
Registration & Onboarding
Getting your business onto MemberZone has three parts: create your account in Get Started, book a setup call with our team, then activate setup and build your club, membership or program (in your business's word) with the guided builder. This guide says club.
Step 1: Choose a Business Account
Go to Get Started (/get-started), or click Create an account on the sign-in page. It asks "How will you use MemberZone?":
- I run a business - "Launch a membership club or subscription for your customers."
- I'm joining a membership club - for members. It points you to your welcome email and offers Sign in to your account.
Choose I run a business. The business link /auth/business-signup skips this screen.
Step 2: Create Your Account
Let's get you set up: enter your First name, Last name, Email address and Password (at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number), then click Sign up. Your account is created on the spot; there's no confirmation email to wait for.
Already signed in? Get Started skips this step.
Step 3: Tell Us About Your Business
Next come a few questions, one per screen. Most move on as soon as you pick an answer, and Back at the top returns to the previous question.
- Annual revenue - a ballpark of your memberships' yearly revenue. It stays private.
- How you run your memberships today - another membership platform, spreadsheets or by hand, just your POS, nothing yet, or something else.
- How many members you have - a rough range, from 1-100 up to 2,500+.
- Your goal - for example grow your membership, keep members longer, save time on operations, or launch a new membership club.
- Members to bring over - yes, no (starting fresh), or not sure yet. If you're moving from another platform or POS, we help transfer your members and subscriptions.
- Your business name - Tell us about your business first offers Autofill from my website (enter your site and click Autofill; we pull your name, type and locations) or Enter it myself. Then confirm or type the name members will see.
- Business type - What kind of business is it? Your type sets the words MemberZone uses everywhere, for you and your members.
Step 4: Add Your Locations
The last step, Where do you operate?, asks for at least one location: its name, a contact name, email and phone, and its address. Use Add your first location, then Add another location (each opens a sidebar to add or edit the location: Location name, Contact name, contact details and Address, then Save location) for more. The first location is your Primary; its contact is used for your account. Each extra location is set up on its own and shares your members and billing.
Your primary location's country (United States or Canada) sets your business's country and the currency your members are charged in. See Payments and Payouts. A business in Canada also gets provinces in its address forms, shipping regions and tax settings, ships through Shippo, sets tax rates per province (or uses Avalara), and checks ages by province where it sells alcohol, cannabis or tobacco. See Shipping in Canada and Taxes in Canada.
Click Finalize my account. This creates your business account and its locations, and nothing else: there's no club yet. Club setup comes after activation (Step 6).
Step 5: Book Your Setup Call
You land on Let's set up your club together (/get-started/business/call). Pick a time in the scheduler and one of our specialists will help you launch your club, bring over your members and connect your POS. When you've booked, or if you click I've booked my call, you'll see You're on our calendar. Click Go to my dashboard to open HQ.
Step 6: Wait for Activation, Then Activate
Until we unlock setup for you, HQ shows a waiting screen: "Thanks, {name} - your account is ready", saying we'll reach out to walk you through setting up your club and moving your members, and to keep an eye on your inbox.
When setup is unlocked, we email you an activation link and code:
- Click the link. It opens
/get-started/activateand takes you straight into the guided builder. You'll be asked to sign in first if you aren't. - Or enter the code. On HQ's waiting screen, click I already have an activation code, or go to
/get-started/activate. Enter your activation code ("Paste the activation code from your setup email to launch the guided club builder") and submit. If it doesn't work: "We couldn't verify that code. Double-check it and try again." - Or from HQ. Once setup is unlocked, HQ reads "You're ready to set up your club, {name}" with Continue setup.
If you open the activation page before setup is unlocked, it says Your setup isn't unlocked yet: we're still prepping your account and will email your activation link. Back to dashboard returns to HQ.
Step 7: Build Your Club with the Guided Builder
Activation opens the guided builder, where you create your club: its plans, pricing and the rewards members unlock. Zoe, your AI assistant, is there to help: ask her anything as you go, and where it's offered, Or let Zoe build it from your website has Zoe draft the whole club from your site for you to review. Until your first club exists, HQ sends you back to the builder.
When your club is ready, submit it for review. See Listings Overview.
Launch Plan
Until you have active members, HQ home shows your Launch plan: six steps, each unlocking the next as you finish or skip it.
- Connect your POS - recognize members and redeem rewards at the register. No POS? Choose inside the step to book a call or continue without one (this skips the step).
- Turn on payouts - connect Stripe (about 3 minutes; have your bank details and ID handy) to collect dues and sales. Your Stripe account is created the first time you click through to Stripe, in your business's country.
- Add your branding - your logo and colors for your public profile and emails.
- Publish your club - a final review, then submit it to go live for members.
- Set up shipping - connect a provider for live rates, labels and compliance. Skippable if you don't ship.
- Bring your members - import an existing list; we map the columns for you. Skippable if you're starting fresh.
In Connect your POS, how you connect depends on your register: Square, Clover and Lightspeed send you to the register to approve access and bring you back; Toast and Shift4 confirm their install inside the step; any other register (such as SpotOn, Shopify or Revel, which MemberZone runs beside rather than connecting to) sends the MemberZone team a setup request by email, and the team follows up.
Connect your POS, Set up shipping and Bring your members can be skipped. Once you have active members, HQ home shows your regular dashboard instead.
