Storefront Products and Store Settings

Your online store is the Shop on your public page, where customers buy one-off items outside your clubs, memberships or programs. It has its own address: /b/your-page/shop on MemberZone, or /shop on your own domain. Two pages under Storefront in the HQ sidebar run it:

  • Store settings - turn the store, and shipping for store orders, on or off.
  • Products - choose which products are in the store and give them a category and tags.

Every Storefront page header shows Store is live or Store is off, and a View store button that opens your shop in a new tab.

Store Settings

Go to Storefront > Store settings (needs the Manage Group Settings permission). Both switches are on for every business until you change them.

Online store

Turn on online store controls the whole store. When it's off:

  • The Shop tab and the shop preview on your Home tab are hidden from your public page.
  • Customers and guests can't place store orders. Anyone who reaches checkout sees "This store isn't taking online orders" and that you have paused your online store.
  • Members no longer see a Shop link for your business in their member area.
  • The Featured products picker on Storefront > Home is empty, with "Your store is off. Turn it on in Store settings to pick products."

Your clubs, memberships and programs are not affected, and orders your team places for a customer still go through.

Shipping for store orders

Offer shipping for store orders lets customers have store orders shipped. When it's off, the store is pickup only:

  • Ship to me is hidden in the store, and a cart that was set to ship switches to pickup at checkout where its location offers pickup.
  • Customers can't place a shipped store order or get a shipping estimate.
  • Orders your team places can still ship.

This switch can only be changed while the online store is on.

Products

Go to Storefront > Products (needs View Inventory or Manage Inventory; making changes needs Manage Inventory). The page lists the current location's products; switch locations to see another location's.

The table

Each row shows the product's photo, name, type and SKU, Price, Available (how many can be sold, "∞" when stock isn't tracked, or "Digital"), Category, Tags and an In store switch. Turning In store on puts the product in your online store; off hides it from the store but keeps it for club orders and templates. New products start out of the store.

Search by name or SKU, and filter by Store (All, In store, Not in store), Category and Tag.

Editing one product

Click a row to open its sidebar. Set In store, choose a Category (or No category; hidden categories are marked "(hidden)") and pick Tags, then click Save. If you have no categories or tags yet, the sidebar links to the Tags page to create them.

With more than one location, Also apply to this product at your other locations (matched by SKU) is ticked by default: the same store presence, category and tags are saved for the product with the same SKU at your other locations. Untick it to change only this location. A product without a SKU only changes here.

Changing many products at once

Tick rows (or tick the header to select the whole page) and use the bar at the bottom:

  • Add to store / Remove from store
  • Category - set a category, or No category to clear it
  • Tags - Add tag or Remove tag

With more than one location, bulk changes and the In store switch in the table also apply to the same SKU at your other locations. Changes only reach locations where you have the Manage Inventory permission.

Categories and Tags

Create categories and tags on Inventory > Tags. A product has one category and any number of tags. Each category and tag gets its own page in your store (see Your Store's Pages).

Click the pencil next to a category or tag to edit it in a sidebar. For a category you can also set:

  • Show in store - turn it off to hide the category. Its products stay in your store, but the category has no chip and no page. Hidden categories show a Hidden badge on the Tags page.
  • Description - optional, up to 300 characters. It shows under the category's name at the top of its page, and is the page's description in search results.

A category or tag's page address comes from its name, so renaming one changes its address. Old links to it open the whole shop.

Your Store's Pages

Every part of your shop has its own address that customers can bookmark and share, and that search engines can list:

  • The shop: /b/your-page/shop
  • A category: /b/your-page/shop/category-name, for example /shop/gift-boxes
  • A tag: /b/your-page/shop/tag/tag-name, for example /shop/tag/new-arrivals

On your own domain the same pages are at /shop, /shop/category-name and /shop/tag/tag-name. Each page has its own title, description and canonical address. A category page uses the category's description; without one, and on tag pages, it reads "Shop {name} from {your business} on MemberZone".

  • Category chips across the top of the shop link to each category's page and show how many products it has at the pickup location or shipping choice the customer is browsing. All returns to the whole shop, and so does clicking the category you're on.
  • Tag chips, in each tag's color, sit in a row below the categories and link to each tag's page.
  • A category or tag only gets a chip when it has products in the store there (the page you're on always keeps its chip). Hidden categories never do.
  • A link to a hidden, renamed or unknown category or tag opens the whole shop. While your store is off, shop links open your main page.
  • The category and tag badges on a product's page link to those pages too.
  • Search, sort and the pickup or shipping choice are part of the address, so a shared link opens the same view and the browser's Back button steps back through the pages a customer visited. Moving between category and tag pages keeps the customer's search, sort and pickup or shipping choice.
  • Home, your clubs, memberships or programs, Reviews, About and FAQ stay as tabs on your main page. Old links to the Shop tab (with ?tab=shop) take customers straight to the shop, on your own domain too.

Your store is listed in the MemberZone sitemap for search engines: the shop page and each category page that has products in the store, while the store is on.

What customers see in the store

  • Each product tile has an Add button. One tap adds it to the cart, and the button becomes a - / + stepper for changing the quantity (down to zero removes it). Tiles show up to two of the product's tags.
  • Adding an item shows a confirmation with View cart, which opens the cart.
  • The cart slides out from the side, with each item's photo, price and quantity stepper, a remove button, and Clear cart, which asks "Clear your cart?" before emptying it.
  • The shop remembers whether the cart is set for pickup or shipping, so moving between pages doesn't reset it.
